作者介紹
 
(美)羅伯特.陶德.卡羅爾
1945年出生,退休前一直在加利福尼亞州南部的一所社區大學教授哲學和批判性思維。他一直對與邏輯和科學相悖的故事和觀點感興趣,比如通靈術、占星術、外星人綁架,等等,並一直致力於探討為什麼有很多人相信這些事情的原因。他為此創辦了一個網站www.skepdic.com,撰寫了相關文章近1000篇。出版的著作有:《懷疑者詞典:那些奇怪的觀念、有趣的欺騙和危險的錯覺》(被翻譯成10多種語言出版)、《非自然行為:批判性思維、懷疑論和科學》、《做批判性思考者:給新千年的指南》、《不可思議:探討外星人、鬼魂、魔鬼、世界末日等奇談怪論》
